2 New Maruti Hybrid SUVs Coming Soon: Vitara 7-Seater & Fronx Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is looking at the low-cost hybrid vehicles for the Indian market. The company is developing a new entry-level 1.2L strong hybrid engine to power the small cars, consistsing Fronx, Dzire, Baleno and Brezza. The company is preparing a new 3-row SUV to challenge the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and others. The SUV will also get the hybrid powertrain.

7-Seater Grand Vitara

The new Maruti 7-seater SUV is likely to be based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform, which underpins the Grand Vitara, Victoris, and Brezza. The platform will be heavily modified to accommodate the longer wheelbase and third-row seat. This will come with the all-new design with significant changes compared to the Grand Vitara. The premium SUV is expected to be launched sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. This is expected to be offered with the 1.5L NA petrol and Toyota-sourced 1.5L TNGA hybrid engine.

Fronx Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is alternate fuel choices, which is evident from the global display of the Fronx Flex-fuel version. It is expected that Fronx will be Maruti’s first product to offer petrol, CNG, hybrid, and flex-fuel engine choices. The company has already started testing the hybrid version of the Maruti Fronx facelift. The updated Fronx is likely to come with the ADAS tech with features like the adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane asssist and others.
