2026 Ducati DesertX Debuts With 110 HP V2 Motor
Ducati has unveiled the new DesertX with the prominent changes. The headline change is the introduction of new 890cc V-twin engine, replaces the older Testasretta unit. The motor is now integrated as the stressed component within the newly designed aluminium monocoque frame, a move which can reduce weight and improves the rigidity. The result is more compact machine which stills retain the durability needed for the long-distance exploration.

The liquid-cooled 90-degree V2 produces the 110 hp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Ducati claimes that 70 % of peak torque is available as early as 3,000 rpm. This ensures steady power at low speeds, that is crucial when navigating steep climbs or technical off-road section. The another practical update is adoption of conventional valve springs, extends service intervals up to 45,000 km, while the oil changes are required only every 15,000 km or two years.
The chassis updates goes beyond aesthetics. The monocoque frame now incorporates the airbox, with the easier access to filter, which is a toughtful touch for the rider tackling dusty trails. The suspension duties are handled by KYB components: a 46mm upside-down forks at the front with the 230 mm of travel, and fully adjustable rear monoshock offers 220 mm.
The braking performance comes with the courtsey of Brembo with the twin 305 mm disc and four-piston calipers up front, pares with the radial master cylinder and redesigned lever for the better modulation. The DesertX continues with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels with Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres.
