Simple One Gen 2 launched at Rs. 1.40 lakh – features, specs
Simple Energy has launched the Gen 2 version of its Simple One electric scooter that brings a host of refinements to performance, design, and software. Rather than the ground-up redesign, the Gen 2 focuses on improving the Gen 1.5 model with the targeted updates.

Price
The price for the Gen 2 range starts at Rs. 1.40 lakh for the Simple OneS, for the Simple One is Rs. 1.70 lakh (4.5 kWh) and goes up to Rs. 1.78 lakh for the Simple One (5kWh). The scooter will be available in three colour options: which are Sonic Red, Asphalt X and Aero X. The company had also announced that all Gen 2 scooters will come with a lifetime warranty, which helps in addressing a lot of concerns buyers have with the long-term ownership of an electric scooter.
Features
The Gen 2 introduces various software updates with the SimpleOS. The two new riding modes have also been added: EcoX as well as SonicX. EcoX analyses the throttle input, speed patterns, as well as the riding environment for adjusting and optimising output for the maximum range. SonicX unlocks the full top speed of 115kph.
The scooter has four different traction modes and four levels of regenerative braking. This also features the two levels of cruise control, which is a standard mode for highways as well as metro mode for city use. The additional features consist of vehicle fall cutoff, emergency braking lights, and hill-hold assist that trigger the brake lights under hard braking.
The 5kWh variants get the 7-inch TFT screen with touchscreen functionality, while the Simple OneS gets the 7-inch non-touch TFT display. The layout offers dark mode as well as light mode options. In all variants, there are 35 litres of boot space, a front glove box, and a USB charging port.
