Toyota Mini Fortuner Price in India: Worth the Hype?

Toyota had started work on all the new rugged SUVs, which will be positioned as a slightly smaller as well as affordable alternative to the Fortuner. This is a new SUV which is expected to debut globally by the end of 2026 and will go on sale in Thailand first.

The new SUV, which has been named Mini Fortuner, is the new Toyota FJ Cruiser or Land Cruiser FJ, which will be sharing the underpinnings with the Toyota Hilux Champ pickup truck, which went on sale in Thailand as well as in Indonesia a few months ago.

The Hilux Champ pickup currently gets the single cab layout with several customisation options. Although the pickup looks quite basic, the design looks quite retro overall. Toyota will continue the boxy as well as retro looks with the more premium touches, as well as also continues to share the 2,750mm wheelbase with Innova Crysta and Fortuner.

Toyota Rugged SUV: Will it come to India?

The Fortuner SUV can be a good fit for India, given the cancellation of the all-new C-SUV by Toyota for our market. The investment plan for the third Toyota facility for building the SUV has already been approved, and the company is also looking at an alternative for the SUV, as reported by us last month.

The IMV platform is already heavily localised in India, all thanks to its presence for around two decades. With the on-road prices for the Fortuner SUV crossing Rs. 60 lakh in some cities, there is enough room for Toyota to bring the rugged SUV between the Innova Crysta and Fortuner.
