Toyota Rumion and Maruti Ertiga: The Car Twins

Hello! Today we will look two special family cars: the Toyota Rumion and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. These cars are like twin brothers born from the same family, but are a bit different with the company. They are made in the same factory using most of the same important parts inside, but they wear different outside clothes and come with different gifts.

How They Look: Different Faces, Same Body

The Front Face:

Toyota Rumion: This car has a big, strong front grille that looks like it belongs to a Toyota Innova. It also has different-shaped front bumpers and new fog lamp housings that look like trapezoids. This makes it look bold and powerful.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: This car has a more elegant front with lots of shiny chrome on its grille. It keeps the normal bumper design, which makes it look sophisticated and premium.

The Sides and Back:

If you look from the side or behind, these twin cars look almost exactly the same! They share the exact same body shape. The only ways to tell them apart are by their different brand badges and their wheel designs. The Rumion has special swirl-pattern alloy wheels.

The Inside Room:

Maruti Ertiga: Inside, everything is arranged the same way in both cars. The Ertiga uses a dual-tone black and beige colour theme with fake wood inserts. This makes it feel light, airy, and elegant – perfect for families.

Toyota Rumion: The Rumion chooses a darker, all-black cabin. This gives it a sportier, more modern feeling inside.

The Engine: The Same Strong Heart

Both cars share the exact same powerful heart! This means they perform identically on the road.

  • Engine Type: Both use the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K15C smart-hybrid petrol engine.
  • Power: This engine produces 103 horsepower and 137 Nm of torque – that’s its strength!
  • Gearbox Choices: You can get both cars with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
  • Fuel Options: Both cars offer a factory-fitted CNG kit option. When using CNG, the engine makes 88 hp and 121.5 Nm of torque.
  • Fuel Efficiency – They travel the same distance on fuel:
  • Petrol: Approximately 20.51 kilometres per litre (kmpl).
  • CNG: Approximately 26.11 kilometres per kilogram (km/kg).

Features, Price, and Ownership: The Big Differences

This is where you really decide which twin you want to bring home.

Features They Share:

Both cars come with many of the same modern features:

  • A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Connected car technology,
  • Automatic climate control (sets the temperature automatically)
  • Up to 4 airbags for safety
