MG Motor to Launch 6 New Cars in 2026 Including Plug-In Hybrid
As the emission norms becomes the stringent, the major automakers started the development of strong and mild hybrid powertrains. Many believe that strong and mild hybrids are the future and can achieve high fuel efficiency without compromising on power.

Honda Elevate Hybrid

This will most likely retain the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the Honda City e: HEV. This will come equipped with the two electric motors as well as a small battery pack. This setup will produce the maximum power of 125 bhp and offers the fuel efficiency of 27.26 kmpl. The pricing will be around Rs. 20 lakh.
Renault Duster Hybrid

The new-generation Duster features the 1.8-litre petrol strong hybrid powertrain, which will be assisted by the two electric motors. The actual output from this setup will be 163 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, and that will come mated to an 8-speed DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission). There will also be a 1.4 kWh battery pack, which offers a longer range in pure EV mode.
Nissan Tekton Hybrid

All three rival SUVs make 116 bhp and have a smaller battery pack than the upcoming Renault and Nissan SUVs. The strong hybrid system offered in Duster and Tekton will be more modern and efficient. It has been reported that this is 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain will be localised in India to make sure that pricing remains competitive.
Jetour T2

JSW MG Motor India has been planning to introduce the Chinese automaker Chery’s Jetour T2 hybrid SUV in India. This plug-in hybrid SUV will be offered with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, an electric motor, and a large battery pack of 26.7 kWh. This will offer a pure electric range of 100 km.
Toyota Fortuner Hybrid

There are reports that a 2.0-litre petrol strong hybrid engine, capable of making around 300 bhp, is in the works. There are some reports that have even claimed that this powertrain will provide the real-world fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl. The pricing will most likely cross the Rs. 50 lakh mark for the strong hybrid variant.
JSW MG 7-Seater

Apart from the Jetour T2, JSW MG Motor is also planning to launch a 7-seater SUV with a strong hybrid powertrain to rival the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari, along with others. This SUV will utilise the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with the 20.5 kWh battery pack. The exact launch details have not revealed.
