MG Majestor vs Honda City Facelift – Full-Size Diesel SUV vs Premium Sedan
The MG Majestor and the Honda City Facelift are completely different vehicles. They serve different purposes and different types of buyers. The MG Majestor is a full-size, diesel-powered SUV. It is built for long-distance cruising, off-road driving, and carrying large families with lots of luggage. The Honda City Facelift is an updated version of a popular sedan. It is designed for daily driving, fuel efficiency, and comfort. One is a huge, powerful machine. The other is a smart, economical city car.

The MG Majestor will have its price announced in mid-May 2026. It is a full-size SUV with an expected price between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh. The Honda City Facelift launches on May 22, 2026. It is a mid-size sedan with a much lower price range of ₹12.5 lakh to ₹20.5 lakh. The Majestor is more than double the price of the City.
The powertrain is very different. The MG Majestor uses a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine produces about 215 horsepower and a very strong 478 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car is available in both rear-wheel drive (4×2) and four-wheel drive (4×4) versions. The 4×4 version has triple differential locks and crawl control. These are serious off-road features. This SUV is meant to go anywhere, even on very rough terrain.
The Honda City Facelift has two engine options. One is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The other is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid. It produces a combined 126 horsepower. It comes with an e-CVT automatic. The City is front-wheel drive only. It is designed for smooth roads and city driving, not for off-roading.
The features on both cars are impressive but very different. The MG Majestor is built for adventure and luxury. It has triple differential locks and crawl control for serious off-road driving. Inside, it has dual 12.4-inch displays, ventilated and massage seats, and three-zone climate control. This is a very luxurious SUV for its price.
The Honda City Facelift focuses on safety and comfort for daily driving. It has Level 2 ADAS, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. It has ventilated front seats, an electric driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, a larger touchscreen, and a digital driver’s display. These are all features that make daily driving safer and more comfortable.
If you are trying to decide between these two vehicles, you should choose the MG Majestor if you have a large family that needs a huge amount of space. You should also choose it if you plan to go on long road trips or if you need off-road capability for rough terrain or adventure travel. You should have a high budget of ₹40 to ₹45 lakh. You should not worry about fuel costs, as a large diesel SUV will have lower mileage than a small sedan.
You should choose the Honda City Facelift if you are a value-conscious buyer looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient sedan for daily city driving and occasional highway trips. You should have a budget of ₹12.5 to ₹20.5 lakh. You want the latest safety features like ADAS. You want the option of a strong hybrid for excellent fuel efficiency. You do not need off-road capability or massive space.
