VinFast Limo Green vs Kia Carens Clavis EV – Two Electric MPVs Compared

The VinFast Limo Green and the Kia Carens Clavis EV are two of the most discussed 3-row electric MPVs in the Indian market. While the Kia offers a longer real-world range, far superior premium interior features, and a mature sales network, the VinFast provides a larger cabin footprint, superior electric motor performance, and a unique battery subscription model aimed at driving down initial purchase costs. If you are looking for an electric family car, these two are very different options.

VinFast Limo Green vs Kia Carens Clavis EV

The VinFast Limo Green is significantly larger than the Kia. It is roughly the length of a Mahindra XUV700. The extra 200 mm over the Carens Clavis translates to genuine adult legroom across all three rows. The VinFast has a 60.13 kWh battery. It has a claimed range of 450 kilometres on the NEDC cycle. It produces 201 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. The Kia has a 51.4 kWh NMC battery. It has a claimed range of 490 kilometres, which is better than the VinFast. It produces 170 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. The VinFast is more powerful, but the Kia has better range.

The VinFast offers a unique Battery-as-a-Service plan. This drops the initial sticker price. VinFast will also replace the battery for free if its health drops below 70 percent. This means you pay less for the car upfront, but you pay a monthly fee for the battery. The VinFast has a minimalist cabin that mimics Tesla’s approach. There is no driver cluster screen. It relies heavily on a 10.1-inch central screen and a Heads-Up Display. The VinFast has 4 to 6 airbags and basic safety features.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is built on the popular and premium Kia Carens platform. It focuses entirely on luxurious creature comforts for private family buyers. The dashboard is a technical showpiece. It features a massive dual 12.3-inch panoramic display screen, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, a wireless air purifier, and a massive panoramic sunroof. While the VinFast focuses on structural simplicity, the Kia brings a full Level 2 ADAS suite with over 20 active features. This includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Kia car owners also gain immediate access to an established country-wide dealer footprint and a reliable network of over 15,000 public chargers. The expected base price of the VinFast is about ₹19.90 lakh onwards. The Kia is expected to start at about ₹17.99 lakh onwards, which is lower.

If you are trying to decide between these two electric MPVs, you should choose the VinFast Limo Green if your absolute priority is maximum third-row cabin space and maximum luggage volume. You should also choose it if you want to bypass battery degradation worries via their subscription model. You need a more powerful motor. You are okay with a minimalist cabin with fewer screens. You are okay with a newer brand with a smaller service network.

You should choose the Kia Carens Clavis EV if you prefer a plush, feature-rich cabin with dual 12.3-inch screens and a Bose sound system. You want advanced safety driver aids like Level 2 ADAS. You want the peace of mind that comes with a massive, pre-existing local service network and access to over 15,000 public chargers. You want a slightly longer range. You want a lower entry price. The Kia is the more premium and established choice.
