After Kushaq Facelift Reveal, Slavia, Taigun, Virtus Get Mid-Life Update Plans
Skoda and Volkswagen are planning various launches in 2026, with both carmakers lining up various product updates during the calendar year (CY). Among the planned introductions are the facelifted versions of their four India-specific MQB-A0-IN-based models, Kushaq mid-size SUV, Slavia mid-size sedan, Taigun mid-size SUV and Virtus mid-size sedan.

The Skoda Kushaq facelift was revealed in January. Although the pre-bookings for the updated model are open, customer deliveries for the Rs. 15,000 customer deliveries get scheduled to begin at the end of March. The Skoda Slavia facelift will be launched in India in the fourth quarter of CY26.
For Skoda, Kushaq and Slavia accounted for a large share of the brand’s India volumes before the arrival of Kylaq compact SUV. For Volkswagen, the Taigun and the Virtus remain the key models in the Indian market. For the refrence, the Virtus was the largest-selling mid-size sedan in India in CY25.
We will be taking the 10 product actions this year. This includes the introduction of the three global icons. There are two major upgrades for volume cars. The Kushaq have upgraded. The Slavia upgrade is also in the plans. There are three variants introduced on Kylaq.
Regarding Volkswagen’s product plans for CY26, the company will have five product interventions during this year, starting with Tayron-R-Line. The pre-bookings have opened for the Tayron R-Line ahead of its launch, scheduled to take place later this month.
