BMW F 450 GS bookings got stopped
BMW Motorrad dealerships have temporarily halted fresh bookings for the BMW F 450 GS across India. This suspension comes less than two months after the adventure motorcycle launched in late April 2026. The reason is overwhelming demand that has completely exhausted the initial production allocation. If you were planning to book this bike, you will have to wait.

The entire first batch of motorcycles for the Indian market has been completely sold out. Before the pause, high demand pushed waiting periods to critical levels across major cities. Buyers in Mumbai and Bengaluru face backlogs stretching close to a year. Showrooms in Kolkata and Hyderabad are quoting waiting periods of six to eight months. So even before the pause, people were waiting a very long time to get their bikes.
The F 450 GS is manufactured locally at the TVS Motor Company facility in Hosur. Industry experts point to global export priorities and local production capacity constraints as the main reasons for the supply bottleneck. BMW is sending many bikes to other countries, which leaves fewer for India. This is similar to what slowed down deliveries for the TVS Apache RTX.
While BMW has not made a formal public statement, dealership sources indicate when bookings might reopen. The second allocation cycle for the entry-level Base variant, which costs ₹4.70 lakh, and the mid-tier Exclusive variant, which costs ₹4.90 lakh, is expected to open as early as July 2026. The premium GS Trophy trim, which costs ₹5.30 lakh, is the off-road-focused version. It features cross-spoke wheels and the Easy Ride Clutch. This variant is projected to remain unavailable until September or October 2026. So if you want the top model, you will have to wait even longer.
For people who have already booked, the first batches of deliveries remain on track to start from June 2026 onwards. So existing customers will get their bikes soon. New buyers looking to book later this year should still prepare for an additional 6 to 8 month waiting period after they book.
If you are thinking of booking the BMW F 450 GS, you should be prepared to wait a long time. If you want the Base or Exclusive variant, you may be able to book again in July 2026. If you want the GS Trophy variant, you will have to wait until September or October 2026. After you book, expect another 6 to 8 months for delivery. So you might not get your bike until late 2026 or even early 2027.
If you cannot wait that long, you should look at other similar adventure motorcycles that are available right now. You could consider the KTM 390 Adventure, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, or the Suzuki V-Strom 250. These are all good bikes that you can buy without a long waiting period.
