BMW iX3 EV: The X3 You Know, Now Fully Electric | Detailed Review

The BMW X3 is already a familiar car. People know it, they trust it, and they understand what kind of SUV it is. The iX3 doesn’t try to change that. BMW has simply taken the same car and removed the engine. What replaces it is an electric setup. That’s it. No drama.

Design and Size

Look at the iX3 and you won’t feel surprised. It looks like an X3. Same body shape. Same size. That’s actually helpful. It doesn’t feel too big on the road and doesn’t look out of place in city traffic. The front grille is closed, and there are a few small EV touches, but nothing loud. If you didn’t know, you might miss that it’s electric.

Driving and Range

Driving the iX3 is calm. There’s no engine noise, no vibration. Power comes in smoothly. It’s not a car meant for aggressive driving. It feels more relaxed than that. For normal use, the expected range is around 450–500 km on a full charge. That should be enough for daily travel and even longer trips if charging is planned properly.

Inside the Car

Inside, it feels like any BMW SUV. The screens are clear. The controls are easy. Nothing feels confusing or experimental. The quality feels solid, and there’s enough space for people and luggage. It’s comfortable, and that’s the main point.

Charging and Daily Use

Most owners will charge it at home. That will handle everyday driving without any effort. Fast charging will help on highways, but the car doesn’t force you to think about charging all the time.

Expected Price

If BMW launches the iX3 in India, it will sit in the premium range. A realistic expectation would be somewhere around ₹60–70 lakh, depending on how it’s brought in.

Final Thoughts

The BMW iX3 doesn’t try to impress. It doesn’t explain itself. It just exists as an electric version of a known SUV. If someone wants an EV but still wants it to feel normal and familiar, this one fits that idea.
