1. Safety: A Big Shift
Maruti Dzire (New):
This is the biggest news. The new Dzire is the first Maruti to score 5 stars in the Global NCAP crash test. It is now a safety leader in its class. It also comes with 6 airbags in all models. Very safe for your family.
Hyundai Aura:
The Aura also gives you 6 airbags as standard, which is good. But the problem is its older body platform. In older tests, it scored only 2 stars. The structure is not as strong as the new Dzire.
Winner: Maruti Suzuki Dzire (for 5-star safe body).
2. Engine: Smoothness vs. Fuel Savings
Hyundai Aura:
The Aura has a 4-cylinder engine. This makes it smoother and quieter. There are fewer vibrations when the car is idle. It feels more refined to drive.
Maruti Dzire (New):
The Dzire has a new 3-cylinder engine. It is not as smooth as the Aura’s 4-cylinder. You might feel some vibrations. But it gives much better mileage. It beats the Aura by over 4 kmpl on petrol and nearly 11 km/kg on CNG. Huge savings on fuel.
Winner: Hyundai Aura for smoothness. Maruti Dzire for fuel savings.
3. Features: What’s Inside?
Maruti Dzire (New):
The new Dzire has introduced segment-first luxury features. You get a single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera. These are features you usually find in much bigger, expensive cars. This is a big win for Dzire.
Hyundai Aura:
The Aura is still competitive. It offers a wireless phone charger, a cooled glovebox (keeps your drinks cool), and an 8-inch touchscreen. The interior fit-and-finish feels premium.
Winner: Maruti Dzire for sunroof and 360-camera. Aura for other cool gadgets.
4. CNG Practicality: Boot Space
Hyundai Aura:
The Aura uses dual-cylinder HY-DUO technology. This means the CNG tanks are split into two smaller ones and placed under the boot floor. This saves a lot of luggage space. You can actually carry bags in a CNG Aura.
Maruti Dzire (New):
The Dzire still uses a single large CNG tank. This tank sits in the boot and eats up most of the 382-litre space. You will have very little room left for luggage.
Winner: Hyundai Aura (for usable boot space in CNG models).
5. Price
Hyundai Aura:
The Aura has a slightly lower starting price at ₹6.49 Lakh. It is a bit more affordable to buy.
Maruti Dzire (New):
The new Dzire starts at ₹6.79 Lakh. It is a little more expensive, but you get the 5-star safety and new features.
Winner: Hyundai Aura (for lower entry price).
