Hyundai Santa Fe Set to Challenge MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner in India, Spied During Testing

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been poised for making a comeback in India, with the new generation model currently undergoing testing, signalling a direct challenge to the premium 7-seater SUVs like Toyota Fortuner as well as MG Gloster. The SUV is expected to launch in India around 2026-2027, positioned as a highly luxurious and feature-loaded alternative to established ladder-frame rivals.

Key Details

Design and Exterior

The new Santa FE features the boxy, muscular design with the floating roof, H-pattern LED headlamps, as well as a straight-out-of-the-boot rear design, which gives a strong and commanding road presence.

Interior and Features

This is expected to come equipped with the dual 12.3-inch curved display setup for the infotainment as well as instrumentation, a Bose premium sound system, ventilated front and second row seats, Nappa leather, and a panoramic sunroof.

Powertrain Options

The new Santa Fe has been offered with the 1.6-litre turbo petrol strong hybrid, a 2.5-litre petrol, and a 2.5-litre turbo petrol. In India, a 2.2-litre diesel engine is also expected to cater to the segment preference.

Expected Price

The Santa Fe is expected to be priced in between Rs. 45 lakh as well as Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
