KTM Hikes Prices of 390 Adventure X and 390 Duke by Up to ₹40,000

KTM has raised the price of the 390 Duke by Rs. 40,000, and now the actual price of the KTM is Rs. 3.39 lakh.

The price hike is the result of a 40 per cent tax which is levied on the bike. Although the government had announced the tax hike a few months ago, KTM was absorbing the additional costs as well as refraining from passing it on to customers till now. The on-road cost of the bike has breached the Rs. 4 Lakh mark, and now it is Rs. 4.07 Lakh.

Those who have booked the KTM 390 Duke will have to bear the current price of the bike at the time of delivery, which is going to be quite an expensive affair.

KTM seems to have created a wide enough gap between the 390 Duke and the upcoming 350cc KTM Duke. The 350cc Duke will attract a much lower tax at 18 per cent, which will allow KTM to price the bike competitively.

The 350cc KTM Duke is expected to produce less power and torque than the engine in the KTM 390 Duke.
