Mahindra Confirms Next EV Launch for 2027
At the recent earnings call, Mahindra confirmed that the next electric offering will arrive in 2027, which is going to be the production version of the BE.07 concept, which was showcased in August 2022. The internally referred to as B07, although a 2027 launch means the electric SUV is slightly delayed from the originally promised launch timeline of October 2026.

The BE.07 will be the second product in Mahindra’s BE series and the brand’s fourth born-electric vehicle after XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S. The production model likely bear the different name, but the concept had previewed a large, 4.6-meter 5-seater with the traditional SUV body style to be positioned above BE 6. This will be targeted directly against the likes of Tata Harrier EV and Vinfast VF7.
The production-spec BE.07 will be underpinned by the same INGLO platform as existing EVs, with battery options ranging between 60kWh and 80kWh. This can be expected to retain a lot of design cues from the Mahindra’s existing crop of EVs, consisting of edgy lighting signatures, although overall design will likely to be a little more conservative than the radical-looking BE 6 and XEV 9e.
Mahindra is currently averaging monthly EV sales of about 4,000 units and plans to ramp it up to about 6,000-7,000 units over the course of the year. It is important to note that EV growth rate has slowed down of late, and remains to be seen if actual demand keeps pace with the expectations of Mahindra.
