Maruti Suzuki Jimny yet again offers a discount of 1.5 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is on discount again. Jimny is a 4×4 SUV from Maruti Suzuki. It is amazingly popular in international markets but could not get a high spot in India.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny directly rivals the Mahindra Thar. The Jimny is an overall good product from Maruti Suzuki, more practical than its rival, the Thar, and easier to drive. However, it still only sells around 400 units a month, while the Mahindra Thar sells 5,500 units a month. The gap is significant.

To tackle this problem, Maruti Suzuki is offering a 1.5 lakh discount on the top model, Alpha, which brings it closer to 17 lakhs on-road in Mumbai.

Jimny is the only SUV from Maruti Suzuki that has 4×4 capabilities. It gets a 1500 cc petrol engine that comes mated with a 4-speed manual and automatic gearbox.

The engine produces 103 bhp and 134 Nm of torque. Importantly, it is based on a ladder frame.
