MG Motor India has officially unveiled the flagship SUV, the Majestor, in the Indian market. The SUV was officially revealed at the Bharat Mobility Expo last year. Although the prices for Majestor are yet to be announced, there are several things that makes the different from the competition.

MG Majestor Sets New Benchmark with Euro 7 Tyres in India

The Majestor is not just the first SUV, but it is also the first car in India to get this feature. This comes with the 19 and 20-inch wheels, depends at the variant. The Apollo Apterra highway terrain tyres used in Majestor were designed in such a way that they meet the Euro 7 emission norms. The customers will get the option to purchase the all-terrain tyres for their Majestor as accessories.

What is Euro 7 for tyres?

The world is moving towards stricter emission norms like Euro 7. We have watched car manufacturers work on the engine as well as the transmission for making vehicle compliant with these norms.

With the Euro 7, things are slightly different. This is not just the vehicle but even the tyres that need to be compliant. Euro 7 will also limit emissions stemming from tyre abrasion. The only tyres with the abrasion rates below the Euro 7 limits will receive the type approval.

Why Euro 7 for tyres?

The Euro 7 emission norms aim to reduce the microplastics and particulate matter (PM) from the tyres used in cars. Over time, tyres, like any other component in a car, start to show wear and tear. These particles often consist of microplastics and can end up in water bodies and other areas, contributing to pollution.
