New 2026 Toyota Fortuner Spied — 5 Major Changes Expected
The next-generation Toyota Fortuner has started global testing. It is a clear indication that the new Fortuner is going to receive a massive update in the Indian market by the end of 2026. The most important change that is expected to come with the updated Toyota Fortuner is the introduction of a new ladder-frame chassis, advanced tech in the cabin and the possibility of electric powertrains in the global market.

New Platform with rugged Formula
The new Fortuner will likely employ the improved version of IMV ladder frame architecture, which is also used in the new Hilux. It means that the Fortuner will benefits the improved ride quality, better steering, and the possibility of hybridisation without sacrificing the body-on-frame design.
ADAS Like first time
Toyota Safety Sense with the assistance system is expected worldwide and might enter the Indian market in higher variants. It would fill the significant gap in comparison to the newer model, which offers lane departure and adaptive cruise control assistance.
Wider Exterior
The recent spy shots indicate a slightly wider and upright stance with slimmer headlamps and a new rear design. The overall boxy shape is still there to retain the Fortuner.
Electrification Possible
The Global variants can receive the mild-hybrid or the full electric variants in the near future. The Indian lineup is likely to get started with the traditional engines, with the hybrid options to be explored.
