Design Inspired by the Patrol

The Tekton draws heavy design inspiration from the legendary Nissan Patrol, earning it the “Baby Patrol” nickname. Key design highlights include:

  • Bold, upright front fascia with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs
  • Prominent front grille with illuminated Nissan logo
  • Full-width horizontal red accent strip
  • Muscular wheel arches and high-set roof rails
  • C-shaped connected LED tail lamps
  • Massive full-width rear light bar

Powertrain Options

The Tekton shares its CMF-B platform with the upcoming Renault Duster. Engine options include:

  • 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (100 hp) with 6-speed manual
  • 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (163 hp) with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT
  • 1.8-litre strong hybrid (expected later)

Interior and Features

The cabin moves away from the Duster’s design to focus on a more premium layout:

  • Large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 10.25-inch fully digital driver display
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Standard 6 airbags
  • 360-degree camera
  • Level 2 ADAS capabilities

Price and Competition

Nissan has launched the Tekton at a price of ₹10.99 lakh to ₹18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the upcoming Tata Sierra.

Why It Matters

The Tekton marks Nissan’s serious commitment to the Indian market. With its Patrol-inspired design, strong feature list, and competitive pricing, it has the potential to become a strong contender in the midsize SUV segment.
