Renault Triber could get a dual tank CNG
Renault India will soon introduce the new factory-fitted CNG kit at the Triber. The compact MPV has been available with the dealer-fit CNG cylinder from 2025, although it takes up most of the boot space. The big news is that the factory-fitted kit will use the dual-cylinder setup positioned under the floor of the MPV.

In February. Nissan Gravite, which is the badge-engineered sibling of the Triber, was also showcased with the dual-CNG setup. At the Nissan Gravite, the cylinder is stacked vertically, effectively leaving no space in the boot at all. Renault got the solution by integrating the dual cylinder into the chassis under the boot. This has been enabled by thorough re-engineering of the CMF-A platform that has now been rebranded as RGEP (Renault Group Platform).

The best part is that the CNG version uses the HR10, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is finally back on cards for Triber. The engine is already does duty on Kiger, as well as produces 100hp and 160 Nm of torque. The exact state-of-tune in CNG spec remains to be seen. This will finally adress Triber customers’ two biggest demands – more power and CNG running costs.
The same turbo-CNG powertrain will also be offered on the Kiger compact SUV. Like the Triber, the Kiger will also moves to the new RGEP base, enables the new dual CNG cylinder setup.
