Hyundai has launched the facelifted Ioniq 5 at Rs. 55.7 lakh, which brings the larger battery, refreshed design and updated technology and safety features. Built on the Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, Ioniq 5 continues as the brand’s flagship electric offering in India.

The biggest change is the introduction of a larger 84.0kWh battery pack, that has replaced the outgoing model’s 72.6kWh unit. The previous model consists of an ARAI-certified range of 631 km, although Hyundai now claims up to 690 km for the updated version, making it one of the highest among the EVs currently on sale in India.

The rear-wheel-drive EV with the 84 kWh battery produces 229hp and 350 NM. This also supports DC fast charging, with the claimed 10-80 per cent charge time of 18 minutes, although an 11kW AC charger takes around 7 hours 35 minutes.

The updated model is also slightly larger, measuring 20mm longer than the outgoing version. The facelifted Ioniq 5 is offered in four exterior colours, which are Midnight Black Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Titan Grey, and Optic White, paired with an obsidian Black interior theme.

This gets a vehicle-to-load function with the output of 3.6kW, which can power up electrical appliances like laptops as well as mobiles. This function can be used with two ports – one located under the rear seats and another outside the car, near the charging port.
