Yamaha NMax 155 to launch in India by 2027

Yamaha is highly likely to launch the NMax 155 maxi-scooter in India by 2027. According to media reports, Yamaha Motor India is actively working to bring this premium scooter to the market to complement its existing 155cc lineup. If you want a comfortable, feature-packed scooter for long rides and daily commuting, the NMax 155 is worth waiting for.

The NMax 155 will use the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the Yamaha Aerox 155. This engine delivers approximately 15 horsepower and 14 Nm of torque. The motor will feature E20 fuel compatibility to meet current Indian emission norms. The scooter is built on an underbone chassis and rides on 13-inch wheels. This is different from the Aerox, which has 14-inch wheels. The suspension setup includes a front telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers.

The NMax 155 will come with discs at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS for safe braking. It will feature a Bluetooth-compatible 4.2-inch colour TFT screen for the instrument cluster. Convenience features include keyless ignition, all-LED lighting, and a fuel-saving smart start-stop system. The scooter will have a spacious 25-litre under-seat compartment along with front apron cubby holes for storage. This makes it very practical for daily use.

Unlike the aggressively sporty Aerox 155, the NMax 155 focuses heavily on maxi-scooter comfort, ergonomics, and long-distance touring practicality. It will serve as a more mature alternative for urban daily commuters and highway riders. The riding position is expected to be more upright and relaxed compared to the sporty stance of the Aerox. Because of the premium equipment and enhanced bodywork, it is expected to be priced above the current Aerox 155.

If you are thinking of buying the Yamaha NMax 155, you should wait for it if you want a comfortable maxi-scooter for long-distance touring. You want premium features like a colour TFT screen, keyless ignition, and dual-channel ABS. You need the practicality of a large 25-litre under-seat storage compartment. You are willing to wait until 2027 for the launch. You prefer a more mature, relaxed riding position over a sporty one.

You should consider the Yamaha Aerox 155 if you want a sporty maxi-scooter that is available right now. You should consider the Suzuki Burgman Street if you want a more affordable maxi-scooter. You should consider the Aprilia SXR 160 if you want a sporty scooter with a larger engine. But if you want the latest in maxi-scooter comfort and technology from Yamaha, the NMax 155 is the one to wait for.
