350cc Triumph 400 range prices hiked
Triumph Motorcycles India has increased prices for its downsized 350cc motorcycle range by up to ₹5,000. This price revision marks the first official hike since Bajaj and Triumph downsized the 399cc engine to a 349cc platform in April 2026. The downsizing was done to take advantage of the lower 18 percent GST tax bracket instead of the 40 percent tax on engines above 350cc. The price hikes vary depending on the model, with the café-racer and premium adventure variants seeing the steepest increases.

The Triumph Speed 400 now costs ₹2.34 lakh, which is an increase of ₹2,000 from its old price of ₹2.32 lakh. The Triumph Speed T4 now costs ₹1.99 lakh, which is an increase of ₹4,000 from its old price of ₹1.95 lakh. The Triumph Thruxton 400 now costs ₹2.70 lakh, which is an increase of ₹5,000 from its old price of ₹2.65 lakh. The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC now costs ₹2.94 lakh, which is an increase of ₹5,000 from its old price of ₹2.89 lakh. The revised pricing for the standard Scrambler 400 X and the Tracker 400 has not yet been announced.
The newly updated sub-350cc engine lineup has different power outputs across the models. The Speed T4 produces 29 horsepower and 31 Nm of torque. Interestingly, the current 350cc version now ironically costs more than the discontinued, more powerful 399cc version. The Scrambler 400 XC generates 37 horsepower and 32 Nm of torque. This is down from 40 horsepower and 37.5 Nm in the previous 400cc versions. The Thruxton 400 retains the highest state of tune at 40 horsepower and 32 Nm of torque.
The price adjustments slightly reduce the financial benefit that consumers originally gained from the brand’s strategic downsizing and subsequent April price cuts. When Triumph first downsized the engines, they passed on the tax savings to customers by reducing prices. Now, they have increased prices slightly, so the savings are not as much as before.
If you are thinking of buying a Triumph 350cc motorcycle, you should do so if you want the Triumph brand and the modern classic styling. You should be aware that the prices have gone up, but they are still cheaper than the old 399cc versions were before the downsizing. The Speed T4 is the most affordable entry point into the Triumph brand. The Speed 400 is the standard naked street bike. The Thruxton 400 is the café racer with the most power. The Scrambler 400 XC is the premium adventure-focused version.
If you are on a very tight budget, you might consider the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or the Hunter 350. They are cheaper but have less power and different styling. If you want more power, you could look at the KTM 390 Duke or the BMW G 310 R. But if you want the Triumph badge and the modern classic look, the 350cc range is still a good option.
