LiveWire S4 Honcho launched globally

LiveWire, which is the electric motorcycle company mostly owned by Harley-Davidson, has started making its new entry-level electric mini-motos. The bikes are called S4 Honcho Trail and S4 Honcho Street. Production began in June 2026. These bikes were developed with KYMCO, a Taiwanese scooter company. This is LiveWire’s first time making lightweight, easy-to-ride bikes that are similar to 125cc petrol bikes.

Let us look at the global pricing and market strategy first. The S4 Honcho Trail costs $4,999 in the US, which is about ₹4.74 lakh. In the UK, it costs £4,599, which is about ₹5.88 lakh. The S4 Honcho Street costs $5,499 in the US, about ₹5.21 lakh, and £4,999 in the UK, about ₹6.39 lakh. In Europe and the UK, both bikes follow A1 and CBT learner license rules. This means younger riders aged 17 and above can ride them. That opens up a very large market. But for India, there is bad news. LiveWire is only selling these bikes in North America and Europe for now. There is no official timeline or word on an India launch yet. So Indian customers will have to wait.

Now let us talk about the mechanical specifications and performance. Both models use the same electric motor setup. The motor is equivalent to a 125cc petrol engine. It can go from 0 to 48 km/h in just 3 seconds. That is very quick for a small bike. The top speed is limited to 95 km/h. So these are not highway bikes. They are meant for city and trail riding. The bikes have two swappable batteries that together make a 3.48 kWh battery pack. You can remove the batteries easily. Charging from 20% to 80% using a normal household plug takes about two hours. That is quite convenient. The riding range is up to 85 km on a single charge. That is certified by WMTC standards. So you can expect around 80-85 km in real-world riding. Both bikes also have a reverse function as standard. This helps you when parking in tight spaces. That is a very useful feature.

Now, what is the difference between the Trail and Street variants? The S4 Honcho Trail is made for light off-road riding and trail fun. It removes non-essential city parts to save weight. So it is lighter at 114.8 kg. It has 12-inch wheels with aggressive Maxxis knobby tyres. These are like small off-road tyres. The seat height is taller at 812 mm. This gives you better control on rough terrain. The S4 Honcho Street is built for city riding and daily commuting. It weighs more at 120.6 kg because it has all the street-legal equipment. This includes headlight, indicators, mirrors, a full digital display, and a tail assembly. It has road tyres on 12-inch wheels. The seat height is lower at 787 mm. This makes it easier to put your feet down at traffic lights.

In short, LiveWire has launched two new small electric bikes globally. The Trail is for light off-road fun. The Street is for city commuting. Both have swappable batteries, good acceleration, and a reverse function. But they are not coming to India anytime soon. Prices start at around $5,000 in the US.
