Honda CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp launched in India
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched its updated 2026 premium big bike lineup. The biggest news is the introduction of Honda’s innovative **E-Clutch technology** on two popular models: the **CB750 Hornet** and the **XL750 Transalp**. Bookings for these bikes are now open at all authorised Honda BigWing dealerships across.

New Prices
The inclusion of the E-Clutch system has brought a price hike of over ₹1 lakh for both models :
- Honda CB750 Hornet E-Clutch:** ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). Previously, it cost ₹9.22 lakh. That is an increase of ₹1.27 lakh.
- Honda XL750 Transalp E-Clutch:** ₹13.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). Previously, it cost ₹11.81 lakh. That is an increase of ₹1.40 lakh.
Apart from the E-Clutch and new paint colours, both motorcycles remain mechanically identical to their outgoing versions. The CB750 Hornet now comes in Graphite Black with a red frame and front fork, while the Transalp is offered in Ross White and Pearl Deep Mud Grey.
What is Honda’s E-Clutch?
The E-Clutch system is an **electronic assistant** that lives inside the clutch casing. Think of it as a smart computer that can operate the clutch for you.
It is the world’s first electronically controlled clutch system for motorcycles. Here is how it works in simple terms:
**Clutchless Operations**
The system allows you to start the bike from a standstill, change gears (up and down), and come to a complete stop **without touching the clutch lever**. You just use the gear pedal and the throttle. The electronics handle the rest .
**Manual Override**
The physical clutch lever is still there. You can take over manual control whenever you want. Just pull the lever like on a normal bike. Once you stop using the lever for a few seconds, the E-Clutch automatically turns back on .
**Fatigue Reduction**
The system completely removes the risk of stalling the engine. You can stop the bike in any gear, and it will not shut off. This heavily cuts down hand fatigue, especially in bumper-to-bumper city traffic. You do not have to keep pulling the clutch lever again and again .
**Weight Penalty**
All this technology does add some weight. The E-Clutch components add approximately **3 kg** to the total weight of both motorcycles. This is relatively light compared to a full automatic gearbox .
Why is E-Clutch a Big Deal?
The E-Clutch is unique because it gives you the **best of both worlds**. You get the convenience of an automatic when you are stuck in traffic or just want a relaxed ride. But you also keep the full manual control for when you want to ride hard on a twisty road. You can switch between the two styles anytime you want .
For new riders, it makes big, powerful bikes less scary because you do not have to worry about stalling. For experienced riders, it reduces tiredness on long trips or in the city .
