Bovensiepen 05 GT unveiled as M5 Touring-based performance estate

The Bovensiepen 05 GT has been officially revealed. It is a very exclusive, high-performance estate car. It is built on the platform of the current plug-in hybrid BMW M5 Touring. This car is made by the founding family behind the famous Alpina brand. So it is like a spiritual successor to the legendary Alpina B5 Touring. It looks sophisticated and understated, but do not let that fool you. Under the skin, it has incredible power.

First, let us talk about the engine and power. Bovensiepen has re-engineered BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine. They changed the air intake system, updated the engine software, and added a custom exhaust. The total output is a staggering 801 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque. That is a big jump over the standard M5 Touring, which has 727 hp and 1,000 Nm. The electric motor and battery remain unchanged from the standard car. So you still get about 56 km of pure electric driving range. The performance is breathtaking. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.6 seconds. The top speed is an unrestricted 306 km/h. The suspension uses softer custom Eibach springs and recalibrated dampers. The car weighs 2,555 kg, which is only 5 kg more than the standard M5 Touring. So it is heavy, but it is built for comfort. Inside, the car keeps the M5’s high-tech dual-screen layout. But the cabin is covered in handcrafted Lavalina leather. Customers can choose endless options for headrest embroidery, stitching, and Alcantara colours. So each car can be made unique to the owner’s taste.

Finally, here are the production and price details. Production is strictly limited to about 100 units per year. This is because the assembly process is very labour-intensive and hand-finished. The base price starts at €198,900, which is roughly ₹1.98 crore. That is before you add any options, taxes, or import duties. Customer deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
