Tata Sierra EV teased with AWD

Tata Motors has officially released the first teaser for the highly anticipated Sierra EV. The company has confirmed that the production-ready version will be unveiled on **June 30, 2026**. This launch brings back one of India’s most iconic SUV names from the 1990s, but this time as a modern electric vehicle.

The Sierra EV will be Tata’s seventh electric model. In the company’s lineup, it will sit right between the Curvv EV and the larger, flagship Harrier EV. This means it will be a premium electric SUV, priced roughly between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

What the Teaser Reveals

The teaser image shows the front of the Sierra EV. It keeps the iconic, tall and rugged stance from the concept, but with EV-specific changes. The key design features visible include:

• A clean, closed-off front grille (blanked-off) that is body-coloured.
• Connected LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and slim LED headlights.
• An illuminated Tata logo in the front.
• The signature tall, boxy silhouette and clamshell bonnet are retained.

The EV version will have its own look to stand out from the petrol Sierra. The front bumper is revised, and it gets EV-specific badging and aero-optimised alloy wheels.

Expected Platform, Battery, and Range

Under the skin, the Sierra EV will use Tata’s advanced **acti.ev+ architecture**. This is the same platform that underpins the Harrier EV. The interior is expected to be very similar to the ICE (petrol) Sierra, featuring a premium triple-screen dashboard layout, a large panoramic sunroof, ADAS, and a host of other modern features.

For the powertrain, it is expected to share its battery options with the Harrier EV. This likely means you can choose between **65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. The larger battery is rumoured to offer a claimed range of **over 500 km** on a single charge.

Tata will offer the Sierra EV in **Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD)** as standard. Higher-end variants will get a powerful **dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD)** setup with up to 500 Nm of torque. This will make it only the second Tata EV, after the Harrier EV, to get AWD capability.

The Tata Sierra EV is a major launch for the brand. It revives a beloved nameplate, uses the latest electric technology, and promises a long range. It will compete with other premium electric SUVs like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and MG ZS EV. The global debut is set for June 30, 2026.
