Ather Rizta crosses 3 lakh sales Milestone in India
The Ather Rizta has officially crossed the 3 lakh unit wholesale milestone in India as of April 2026. That is 300,000 scooters. Since its launch on April 6, 2024, this family-focused electric scooter has rapidly become Ather’s most popular model. It now accounts for 77% of the brand’s total monthly sales. The Rizta’s growth has been very fast, helping Ather become India’s third-largest electric two-wheeler company, behind only TVS and Bajaj.

The Rizta reached its sales milestones very quickly. It was launched on April 6, 2024. It took about 13 months to reach 1 lakh units in May 2025. It took only about 5 more months to reach 2 lakh units in October 2025, which is 18 months from launch. And it took another 6 months to reach 3 lakh units in April 2026, which is 25 months from launch. The speed of sales has increased as the scooter has become more popular.
There are several reasons for this strong performance. First, the Rizta has mass market appeal. Unlike the performance-oriented 450 series, which was aimed at enthusiasts, the Rizta is a “family-first” design. It has the largest seat in the segment and 56 litres of total storage space. This makes it very practical for families. Second, affordability has been boosted by the Battery-as-a-Service model, or BaaS. This allows customers to buy the Rizta S for an upfront cost of ₹76,000 plus a monthly battery subscription, instead of paying the full price of ₹1.17 lakh all at once. This lower upfront cost has attracted many buyers. Third, the financial impact has been very positive for Ather. Driven by Rizta’s volumes, the company reported a 63% surge in yearly revenue to ₹3,671 crore and reduced its quarterly net losses by 57%. The company sold 2.63 lakh units in the full financial year, a 69% jump over the previous year. Quarterly revenue crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark for the first time in March 2026.
Building on the Rizta’s success, Ather is now developing new platforms. The EL platform will be for more affordable scooters, targeting the mass market price range of ₹1 to 1.25 lakh. The Zenith platform will be for electric motorcycles, with engine equivalents ranging from 125cc to 300cc. To support this growth, a third manufacturing plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is slated to go operational in late 2026. This will boost total annual capacity to 1.42 million units.
If you are thinking of buying an Ather Rizta, you should do so if you want a practical, family-friendly electric scooter with the largest seat in its class and huge 56 litres of storage. You should also consider it if you want the option of BaaS to lower the upfront cost to just ₹76,000, if you want a scooter from a brand that is growing fast and has a proven track record, and if you want a scooter that is now the third best-selling electric two-wheeler in India. The Rizta is perfect for families, daily commuters, and anyone who wants a reliable, spacious electric scooter.
You should consider the TVS iQube or Bajaj Chetak if you want a scooter from an even larger, more established brand with a wider service network. You should also consider the Ather 450 series if you want a more performance-oriented scooter with sharper handling and quicker acceleration.
