Honda City Facelift 2026 Spotted in Brazil, India Launch on May 22

City Facelift 2026 is scheduled to launch in India on May 22, 2026. This is the second update for the current fifth-generation model, which was originally launched in 2020 and first refreshed in 2023. Recent spy shots of the updated sedan were spotted in Brazil, and they suggest that India will likely receive similar cosmetic and feature-based enhancements. The facelift focuses on keeping the sedan competitive against rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.

On the outside, the refresh includes subtle but noticeable changes. The front grille may get a new slatted design. The front and rear bumpers will be updated, and there will be new LED headlight and tail-light styling. New alloy wheel designs and fresh colour options are also expected. The overall shape of the car remains the same, but these small changes make it look more modern and fresh.

The cabin will see more significant upgrades. These are the features that matter most to people sitting inside the car. Honda is expected to add ventilated front seats, which blow cool air to keep you comfortable in hot weather. There will likely be a powered driver’s seat, which lets you adjust your position with the push of a button. The infotainment touchscreen will be larger and will have updated software. A 360-degree camera setup will be added, which helps you park by showing a bird’s eye view of the car on the screen. The second is a 1.5-litre e:HEV strong hybrid. This produces a combined system output of 126 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque and is paired with an e-CVT. The hybrid is much more fuel-efficient, especially in city driving, and it delivers instant torque from the electric motor.

Industry experts expect a slight increase in price over the current models because of the added features. The standard petrol variants are expected to range between ₹12 lakh and ₹16 lakh, ex-showroom. The hybrid variant is likely to be priced around ₹20 lakh to ₹24 lakh. This means the hybrid is significantly more expensive, but it also saves you a lot of money on fuel in the long run if you drive many kilometres each day.

On the same day as the City facelift, Honda will also launch the ZR-V Hybrid SUV. This will be a premium model imported via the CBU route, which means it will be fully built in a foreign country and brought to India. As a result, it will be quite expensive and will serve as a halo model to show Honda’s technology and design capabilities.
