Honda ZR-V e:HEV Hybrid – Honda’s New Flagship SUV in India
Honda has officially debuted the ZR-V e:HEV Hybrid in India. The exact finalized variant pricing has not been announced yet. However, it is expected to have an ex-showroom price between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh. The car is being imported as a full Completely Built Unit, or CBU, from Japan in limited quantities. Heavy import duties place it squarely into the luxury price bracket. It is Honda’s new flagship SUV. Pre-launch bookings are already underway at dealerships. Official customer deliveries are slated to begin in July 2026.

The premium hybrid crossover is expected to be offered in two top-tier trims. The ZR-V Sport Hybrid is expected to cost about ₹40 lakh ex-showroom. The ZR-V Advance Hybrid is expected to cost about ₹43 lakh ex-showroom. These are estimated prices. Final prices may vary.
Unlike the smaller Honda Elevate, the premium ZR-V relies on a large, high-efficiency hybrid setup. It features a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine. This engine is paired with a dual-electric motor strong-hybrid system. The combined output is 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. It has a smooth e-CVT automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a quick 7.9 seconds. It delivers an impressive ARAI-certified fuel mileage of 22.8 km per litre. This is exceptional for an SUV of this size.
To justify its luxury-tier pricing, the India-spec ZR-V comes fully loaded in a single high-end trim configuration. The cabin tech includes a 9-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. It has a 10.2-inch fully digital driver’s instrument cluster. It also has a unique button-operated electronic gear selector. The luxury comforts include a large panoramic sunroof, a premium 12-speaker Bose surround-sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a powered tailgate, and memory seats for the driver. Note that ventilated seats are omitted from this CBU model. For safety, it has the Level-2 Honda Sensing ADAS suite. This includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. It also has a 360-degree camera system and 8 airbags as standard.
At this price range, the Honda ZR-V will bypass mainstream midsize crossovers. It will challenge established European luxury models like the Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
If you are thinking of buying the Honda ZR-V, you should do so if you want a premium hybrid SUV from Honda. You want the exceptional fuel efficiency of 22.8 km per litre for a car of this size. You want the luxury of a panoramic sunroof, a Bose sound system, and memory seats. You want the safety of Level-2 ADAS and 8 airbags. You have a high budget of ₹40 to ₹50 lakh. You are willing to wait for deliveries to begin in July 2026.
You should consider the Skoda Kodiaq if you want a larger 7-seater SUV with a petrol engine. You should consider the Volkswagen Tiguan if you want a more sporty driving experience. You should consider the Toyota Camry Hybrid if you want a hybrid sedan with similar fuel efficiency but a lower price. However, if you want a premium hybrid SUV with the Honda badge and exceptional fuel economy, the ZR-V is a strong contender.
