Nissan India has released a fresh teaser for its upcoming midsize SUV, the Tekton. The company has confirmed that the global premiere will take place on **July 9, 2026, in Mumbai**. Design and Styling

The Tekton has a bold and muscular design that makes it stand out. The front features inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights, a prominent grille, and an illuminated Nissan logo connected to a full-width red accent strip. The side profile gets a distinctive 3-door look with rugged pull-type front handles and hidden rear handles in the C-pillar. The rear end features C-shaped connected LED taillights and a massive full-width light bar, mimicking the Patrol’s signature look.

Platform and Powertrains

Under the skin, the Tekton uses the alliance’s **CMF-B platform**, which it shares with the upcoming Renault Duster. Nissan will offer three engine options:

  • A **1.0-litre turbo-petrol** producing close to 100 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
  • A more powerful **1.3-litre turbo-petrol** generating 163 hp, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
  • A **1.8-litre strong hybrid** is heavily rumoured to join the lineup later, promising excellent fuel efficiency.

Interior and Features

The cabin is expected to be premium and tech-forward. Anticipated features include a large **10.1-inch touchscreen** infotainment system, a **10.25-inch fully digital driver display**, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and dual-zone climate control. The Tekton will also be loaded with safety features like **standard 6 airbags**, a 360-degree camera, and **Level 2 ADAS** (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

Expected Pricing and Competition

The Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced between **₹10.5 lakh and ₹18.5 lakh** (ex-showroom) . It will directly compete with popular midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the upcoming Tata Sierra.

The Nissan Tekton is a stylish and feature-packed midsize SUV that revives a legendary nameplate. It will offer multiple engine options, a premium cabin, and strong safety tech. It is scheduled for a global debut on July 9, 2026.
