Tata Tiago EV Facelift 2026 – New Look, More Features, and Better Range

Tata Motors has officially revealed the Tiago EV facelift. The official launch is on May 28, 2026. This is a heavy mid-life update. It transforms the budget hatchback into a highly premium, purpose-built electric commuter. The expected starting price is around ₹8.00 lakh, ex-showroom. If you are looking for an affordable electric car with a premium feel, this is a great option.

Tata has given the Tiago EV a completely independent identity. It now looks very different from the petrol Tiago. The front gets a smooth, body-coloured blanked-off grille. Since it is an electric car, it does not need a mesh grille for engine cooling. It has sleeker LED headlamps and aggressive eyebrow-style LED daytime running lights. The car now looks more like an urban crossover. It has black wheel-arch cladding, which is inspired by the Tiago NRG. It also gets aerodynamically optimised 14-inch wheels. At the rear, there is a new bumper and a premium connected-effect LED tail lamp cluster with sharp vertical detailing. The Tiago EV is also available in new colours, including an exclusive light green and a premium red.

The battery and range are expected to improve. The mechanical architecture carries forward, but Tata is rumoured to update the battery cells. The medium range pack is 19.2 kWh. It produces 62 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque. The claimed MIDC range is 223 kilometres. The long-range pack is 24 kWh. It produces 75 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The claimed MIDC range is 293 kilometres. The DC fast-charging capacity was previously capped at 18 kW. This is expected to be significantly boosted. This will deliver much faster charging times from 10 to 80 per cent.

The cabin gets a major tech and safety overhaul. The Tiago EV will have a 360-degree camera. This is confirmed by new camera pods under the ORVMs and front bumper. This will make it the most affordable car in India with a surround-view camera system. The cockpit gets a massive 10.25-inch HARMAN touchscreen system. It also gets a freestanding digital instrument cluster and an illuminated two-spoke steering wheel. The older model had only two airbags. The 2026 version will have 6 airbags as standard across all variants. It will also have the Electronic Stability Program, or ESP.

If you are thinking of buying the Tata Tiago EV facelift, you should do so if you want an affordable electric hatchback with a premium look. You want the safety of 6 airbags and a 360-degree camera. You want a large 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. You have a budget of around ₹8 to ₹10 lakh. You have a daily city driving distance of less than 200 kilometres. You have access to home charging.

You should consider the MG Comet EV if you want an even smaller car for very tight city parking. You should consider the Citroen eC3 if you want a more spacious cabin and a softer suspension. You should consider the Tata Punch EV if you want a small SUV with higher ground clearance and even more range.
