Toyota Gazoo Racing has officially unveiled the 2026 GRMN Corolla. This is the most extreme, track-focused, and stripped-out version of the hot hatch ever built. It earns the prestigious “Meister of Nürburgring” badge, which is called GRMN. This elite model sits above the standard GR Corolla and was created through tough endurance tests at the Nürburgring race track and Japan’s Super Taikyu racing series. The GRMN Corolla keeps Toyota’s famous 1.6-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged G16E-GTS petrol engine. The peak power remains the same as the standard GR version at 305 horsepower. But Gazoo Racing engineers have heavily reworked how the power is delivered. The peak torque rises by 15 Nm, reaching a total of 415 Nm. Borrowing insights from Toyota’s hydrogen race car program, the torque curve has been reshaped specifically between 3,600 rpm and 4,800 rpm. This allows the car to pull harder and accelerate aggressively out of corners. In line with its enthusiast focus, it is available strictly with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission that features rev-matching technology. It also adds a dedicated intercooler spray system and a functional cool-air intake duct to manage extreme heat during continuous hot laps.

To dramatically improve its power-to-weight ratio, Gazoo Racing went on a ruthless diet. They shaved 30 kilograms off the standard manual GR Corolla. Despite keeping its practical 5-door body shape, the rear seats have been completely removed to prioritise weight savings. The car extensively uses lightweight carbon fibre for the vented bonnet, front fenders, front-side aerodynamic spoilers, and the aggressive rear roof wing.

The car’s handling has been completely overhauled to provide direct communication at the limit. It is equipped with specialised front and rear monotube shock absorbers with rebound springs to maximize tyre contact and cornering traction. The signature GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system and electric power steering have been fully optimised to offer sharper, highly predictable track handling. The chassis sits 5 mm lower on 18-inch matte bronze forged alloy wheels wrapped in ultra-sticky, 10 mm wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. These tyres are designed for maximum grip on the track.

The interior swaps traditional hot hatch comforts for pure motorsport ergonomics. Up front, occupants are secured in heavily bolstered bucket seats accented with red stitching and embroidered GR headrest logos. The driver interacts with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel featuring a red 12 o’clock centre marker. The dashboard is finished in a glare-reducing flocked material. To highlight its exclusive status, each car features distinct GRMN interior badging and a serial plate bearing the signature of Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda, who is known as “Morizo.”
