May 2026 is going to be a very busy month for car buyers in India. Several major car launches are scheduled, including the Honda City Facelift, the all-electric Toyota Ebella, and premium SUVs from MG, Tata, and Skoda. Here is everything you need to know about each launch in simple words.

MG Majestor

The MG Majestor is a premium SUV that will launch on May 10, 2026. Its expected price is between ₹39.50 lakh and ₹43.25 lakh. This is MG’s new flagship SUV, which replaces the Gloster. It is a large, powerful SUV with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215 horsepower and 478.5 Nm of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and has both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options. The Majestor has a huge 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. For safety, it gets Level 2 ADAS and six airbags. This SUV will compete with the Toyota Fortuner.

Tata Safari EV

The Tata Safari EV is an electric version of the popular Safari SUV. It will launch on May 15, 2026, with an expected price of around ₹32 lakh. The Safari EV is built on Tata’s new acti.ev platform. It will come with a 65 kWh or 75 kWh battery pack, giving a range of up to 500 kilometres on a full charge. The dual-motor all-wheel drive version will produce up to 390 horsepower and go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. The car has a 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, and a panoramic sunroof. It also supports V2L and V2V charging, which means you can use the car to power other devices or even charge another electric vehicle. The Safari EV will rival the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the MG ZS EV.

Skoda Kodiaq RS

The Skoda Kodiaq RS is a performance SUV that will also launch on May 15, 2026. Its expected price is between ₹45 lakh and ₹60 lakh. This is the sporty version of the regular Kodiaq. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. The Kodiaq RS can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. It has a sporty body kit, big 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, and sport seats inside. The cabin has a 10-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker sound system, and a digital driver’s display. This SUV will compete with the Jeep Meridian and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebellla

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is Toyota’s first battery electric vehicle for India. It will launch on May 20, 2026, with an expected price between ₹16 lakh and ₹21 lakh. The Ebella is developed in partnership with Suzuki and shares its platform with the Maruti e-Vitara. It comes with two battery options: a 49 kWh battery giving 440 kilometres of range, and a 61 kWh battery giving 543 kilometres of range. The car has a front-wheel drive electric motor producing up to 174 horsepower. It comes in three trims: E1, E2, and E3. The top E3 variant has a panoramic glass roof, Level 2 ADAS, and a JBL sound system. The Ebella will compete with the Tata Curvv EV and the MG ZS EV.

Honda City Facelift

The Honda City Facelift will launch on May 22, 2026. The expected price is between ₹12 lakh and ₹16 lakh. This is the second update for the fifth-generation City. The facelift brings subtle design changes, including a revised grille, updated LED headlights and tail lamps, and new alloy wheel designs. The big changes are inside the cabin. Honda is adding a larger touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and a fully digital driver’s display. The engines remain the same. There is a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 121 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. There is also a 1.5-litre strong hybrid that makes a combined 126 horsepower and delivers amazing fuel efficiency. The City will compete with the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.

Honda ZR-V

The Honda ZR-V is a premium SUV that will also launch on May 22, 2026. Its expected price is between ₹14 lakh and ₹18 lakh. The ZR-V is a new model for India and will be imported as a CBU, meaning it is fully built in a foreign country and brought here. It is a crossover SUV that sits between the Elevate and the CR-V in Honda’s lineup. It will likely come with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a strong hybrid option. The ZR-V is expected to have a premium interior with a large touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, and a sunroof. It will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
