Key Details and Features
The upcoming Nissan mid-size SUV is likely to be called Nissan Tekton as well as built on the CMF-B platform, which it will share with the all-new Renault Duster. Drawing design inspiration from the larger Nissan Patrol, Tekton is expected to feature the bold and sharp styling, distinctive headlights, and a strong, imposing front grille.
The SUV is anticipated to offer a more premium cabin with improved material quality, possibly advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and updated technology to stay competitive in the segment. Powering the Tekton could be a turbocharged petrol engine, which is likely the same 1.3-litre turbo unit seen on the Duster, paired with the manual and CVT gearbox options, along with the possibility of an AWD variant.
With respect to the positioning, the Nissan Tekton will sit above the Maginte as well as is expected to take on rivals which are like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate. The SUV is expected to launch in India in the first half of 2026 (FY 2026), following the debut of the new-generation Renault Duster.
