New Maruti Brezza Facelift Spotted Again on Test
Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been spotted testing multiple times, most recently in hilly areas like Shimla and Manali. These test mules have revealed a series of cosmetic and functional upgrades for the 2026 debut. This update aims to keep Maruti’s best-selling compact SUV competitive against rivals like the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue. The expected launch is around April or May 2026. Pricing is estimated to start between ₹8.50 lakh and ₹9 lakh.

The 2026 Brezza keeps its signature boxy shape but adds modern styling elements. The front gets a new grille design that may remove the heavy chrome slats, and the front and rear bumpers have been reshaped. The headlights are updated LED projectors, and there may be connected LED tail lamps similar to those seen on the Maruti Victoris. The test mules also show new 16-inch four-spoke blacked-out alloy wheels with a swirl-style design.
The cabin is expected to get a big technology boost to match newer segment standards. There will likely be a larger 10.1-inch floating touchscreen, up from the current 9 inches, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and a fully digital instrument cluster are also expected. For safety, there are rumours that Level 2 ADAS features like autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist may be included.
The reliable 1.5-litre K15C engine will likely continue. This naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 103 horsepower. However, there are reports that Maruti may also add a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol BoosterJet engine from the Fronx. This smaller engine would lower taxes and improve performance. The gearbox may also be upgraded. A new 6-speed manual gearbox might replace the current 5-speed unit, which would make highway cruising smoother. Another innovation being tested is a new underbody-mounted CNG tank using dual-cylinder technology. This would reclaim the boot space that is typically lost in CNG variants because the tank would be mounted under the car instead of in the boot.
If you are thinking of waiting for the Brezza facelift, you should do so if you want the latest design with updated lights and grille, if you want a bigger touchscreen and digital instrument cluster, if you want ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera, if you want Level 2 ADAS for safety, if you prefer a 6-speed manual gearbox for highway driving, or if you want a CNG Brezza with underbody tanks that do not eat up boot space. You can wait only if you are okay with the launch in early to mid-2026.
You should buy the current Brezza now if you need a car immediately, if you want to save money with discounts on the outgoing model, if you are okay with the current 5-speed manual gearbox, or if you do not need features like ADAS, ventilated seats, or a 360-degree camera.
