MG Majestor SUV Launched at ₹40.99 Lakh
JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the all-new MG Majestor SUV. The introductory starting price is ₹40.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the brand’s flagship internal combustion engine vehicle. It enters the market as a larger, more luxurious successor to the MG Gloster. If you want a big, powerful, and feature-packed diesel SUV, the Majestor is a great new option.

The premium full-size SUV is initially available in its high-end Savvy trim. This comes in both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain options. The Savvy 4×2 automatic is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. It costs ₹40.99 lakh. The Savvy 4×4 automatic is available only as a 7-seater. It costs ₹44.99 lakh. A more budget-friendly ‘Sharp’ variant is expected to debut later. So if you want a lower-priced version, you may have to wait.
The Majestor carries forward a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. It generates 215.5 horsepower, which is 213 bhp, and 478.5 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. The 4×4 version has serious off-road capabilities. It is equipped with triple differential locks on the front, rear, and centre. It has 10 off-road terrain modes, crawl control, and an 810 mm water wading depth. This means you can drive through very deep water without damaging the engine. This SUV is built for serious off-road adventures.
The cabin is very luxurious. It has ventilated and massaging front seats. The driver’s seat has 12-way power adjustment with memory. There is a 64-colour ambient lighting layout. You can change the colour of the lights inside the car. For technology, it has dual 12.3-inch screens. One is for the infotainment system, and the other is for the digital instrument cluster. It also has a premium 12-speaker JBL surround sound system. For safety, it has a complete Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera system, and 6 standard airbags.
The MG Majestor squares up directly against full-size 3-row heavyweights like the Toyota Fortuner, the Skoda Kodiaq, and the Jeep Meridian. While the standard 4×2 entry variants of the Fortuner are cheaper, the fully-loaded Majestor 4×4 dramatically undercuts premium ladder-frame rivals like the Fortuner Legender on price. At the same time, it offers a much heavier tech sheet with more features.
If you are thinking of buying the MG Majestor, you should do so if you want a big, powerful, and luxurious diesel SUV. You need serious off-road capability with triple differential locks and 10 terrain modes. You want a 7-seater for your large family. You want premium features like ventilated and massaging seats, dual screens, and a JBL sound system. You have a budget of around ₹41 to ₹45 lakh.
You should consider the Toyota Fortuner if you want a proven, rugged SUV with a higher resale value. You should consider the Skoda Kodiaq if you want a more European driving experience. You should consider the Jeep Meridian if you want a more understated luxury SUV. But if you want the best value for money in terms of features and off-road capability, the MG Majestor is a very strong contender.
