Audi Q4 e-tron facelift revealed

Now! It’s officially revealed the global facelift for its best-selling electric SUV, the Q4 e-tron, and its Sportback sibling. The update focuses heavily on a high-tech interior overhaul, bidirectional charging, and efficiency-led range improvements. The updated models are available to order in Europe starting May 2026. In Germany, prices start at €47,500 for the SUV and €49,450 for the Sportback. This works out to roughly ₹52.5 lakh and ₹54.7 lakh, respectively. While Audi has not yet confirmed if this facelift will come to India, it is expected to be Audi’s entry-level EV if launched here.

The cabin receives the most significant changes, adopting a design language seen in newer models like the Q6 e-tron. The dashboard now features a standard 11.9-inch digital driver’s display and a 12.8-inch central MMI touch display. For the first time in an Audi, there is an optional 12-inch front passenger display, which is the largest passenger screen ever offered by the brand. Most physical controls, including the climate settings, have been integrated into the touchscreen. The steering wheel is also new. It is a redesigned four-spoke wheel with new roller controls and touch-sensitive inputs.

While the battery sizes remain the same at 59 kWh and 77 kWh net, a new APP350 rear electric motor improves efficiency by roughly 10%. The rear-wheel drive variants produce up to 286 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque, with a maximum range of 592 km under the WLTP test. The Quattro all-wheel drive variants deliver up to 340 horsepower with a range of up to 554 km. DC fast-charging capacity has also increased to 185 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in just 27 minutes.

The exterior keeps its familiar shape but adds sharper details. The Matrix LED headlights now offer four different digital light signatures that you can select through the MMI screen. The Gen-2 OLED taillights have a clever proximity detection system. If another vehicle gets too close to the car while it is stationary, the taillights flash to alert the following driver. The Singleframe grille is now colour-matched to the body, and there are five new alloy wheel designs available in sizes from 19 to 21 inches.

One of the most important new features is bidirectional charging. The facelifted Q4 e-tron is the first Audi to support this technology. With Vehicle-to-Home or V2H, the car can supply energy back to a house. It can act as supplementary storage for solar systems, storing energy from solar panels during the day and using it at night. With Vehicle-to-Load or V2L, you can power external electrical devices through a domestic socket located in the boot. This means you can plug in a laptop, camping equipment, or other appliances directly into the car.

If you are thinking of waiting for this Audi Q4 e-tron, you should do so if you want a premium electric SUV with the latest triple-screen interior, if you want a car that supports bidirectional charging to power your home or devices, if you want good range of up to 592 km and faster charging in just 27 minutes, if you like the new design features like customizable DRLs and OLED taillights, and if you are willing to pay a premium price of around ₹50 to ₹55 lakh. However, you can wait only if you are okay with the fact that Audi has not yet confirmed an India launch, and if you can wait for it to possibly come in the future.

You should consider other electric SUVs now if you need a car immediately, if you have a lower budget, or if you want a brand with a confirmed India launch timeline.
