Renault to launch Kwid facelift on July 3

Renault India is set to launch the facelifted Kwid on **July 3, 2026**. This mid-cycle refresh aims to modernise the brand’s most affordable hatchback and keep it competitive in the entry-level segment.

Exterior Design: Inspired by the Dacia Spring

The most noticeable changes are at the front, where the facelifted Kwid will borrow design cues from the global **Dacia Spring EV**. Key updates include:

*   **Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs)** at the front and matching Y-shaped LED tail lamps at the rear, bringing it in line with Renault’s new global design language.

*   A **redesigned grille** and **updated front and rear bumpers** for a fresher, more contemporary look .

*   A new set of alloy wheels and a shark-fin antenna, replacing the older roof-mounted mast. The main headlights, however, are expected to remain halogen units.

Cabin and Feature Upgrades

Inside, the Kwid facelift is expected to get significant tech upgrades.

*   A **larger touchscreen infotainment system**, likely around 10 inches, will replace the current unit, bringing it more in line with buyer expectations in this segment.

*   It is also expected to get a **fully digital instrument cluster** and a **new steering wheel design** .

Expected Safety Enhancements

Renault might use this update to boost the Kwid’s safety package.

*   The facelift could get **six airbags**, a significant upgrade that would make it one of the safest cars in its class. The current model does not offer this as standard.

Powertrain: Unchanged

Mechanically, the Kwid facelift is not expected to see any changes.

*   It will continue with the same **1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine**, which produces around **65-68 bhp** and **91-96 Nm** of torque .

*   Transmission options will remain the same, with a choice between a **5-speed manual** and a **5-speed AMT**.

Expected Pricing and Competition

The facelifted Kwid is expected to carry a modest premium over the outgoing model, which was priced between ₹4.30 lakh and ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) .

*   **Expected Price**: Around ₹4.80 lakh to ₹5.80 lakh (ex-showroom) .

*   **Competition**: It will continue to rival the **Maruti Suzuki Alto K10** and **Maruti Suzuki Celerio** in the budget hatchback segment .
