Skoda Peaq 3-row EV debuts with 640km range

Skoda has unveiled the Peaq, its biggest and most advanced electric SUV yet. It is a three-row, seven-seater vehicle that is longer than the Kodiaq and sits at the very top of Skoda’s EV lineup. The company is currently considering launching it in India as a completely built unit (CBU) import.

Powertrain and Range

The Peaq is offered globally with three powertrain options, using two battery sizes.

– **Peaq 60**: This is the base variant. It has a 63 kWh battery and a single motor that powers the rear wheels. It produces 204 hp and has a claimed range of 459 km on a full charge.

– **Peaq 90**: This mid-tier version gets a larger 91 kWh battery and a more powerful rear-wheel-drive motor producing 286 hp. It offers the longest claimed range of 647 km.

– **Peaq 90x**: The top-of-the-line model also has the 91 kWh battery, but it adds a second motor on the front axle to give it All-Wheel Drive (AWD). It produces 299 hp, does 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and still has a claimed range of 613 km .

All variants support fast charging. The larger 91 kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes using a 199 kW DC fast charger .

Design and Size

The Peaq is nearly 4.9 meters long and has a long wheelbase, making it Skoda’s largest SUV . It has a sleek design with a low drag coefficient, and its front gets Skoda’s new ‘Tech Deck’ face with T-shaped LED lights . It also features flush-fitting door handles and large 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels .

Interior and Features

Inside, the Peaq can seat seven people. It has a 13.6-inch portrait touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a host of premium features. Key highlights include:

– **Audio**: A 16-speaker premium Sonos sound system.

– **Comfort**: An optional Relax Package adds massaging seats with leg rests and a wellness app .

– **Sunroof**: A panoramic roof with adjustable transparency.

– **Practicality**: It has 299 litres of boot space with all seats up, which expands to 935 litres with the third row folded. It also has a 37-litre front trunk (frunk) .

– **Safety**: It comes with 10 airbags and a Level 2 ADAS suite as standard .

India Launch Possibility

Skoda India has confirmed that the Peaq is “on the radar” for the local market . While no launch date has been fixed, the company is evaluating it for India . If it does come, it will most likely be as a premium CBU import, competing with large electric SUVs like the Kia EV9 .

The Skoda Peaq is a large, long-range electric SUV with three rows of seating. It offers a strong combination of range, space, and technology, and Skoda is actively considering bringing it to India.
