Skoda Peaq design sketches revealed ahead of June 23 debut

Skoda has officially released the first exterior design sketches of its upcoming Skoda Peaq. This is a flagship electric SUV scheduled for its global debut on June 23, 2026, in Monnetier-Mornex, France. The Peaq brings the brand’s fresh “Modern Solid” design language to life. It also breaks a long-standing tradition as the first Skoda SUV whose name does not begin with the letter “K”. If you want a large, stylish, and practical electric SUV from Skoda, the Peaq is coming soon.

The production-ready sketches reveal a highly sculpted, aerodynamic look that remains remarkably faithful to the original concept vehicle. The front features an upright stance equipped with a gloss-black, blanked-off “Tech-Deck Face” panel. It incorporates a full-width LED light bar connecting slim, T-shaped matrix headlamps. The side profile is defined by a starkly high shoulder line, wide D-pillars, flush-fitting door handles, and a choice of large, aero-optimised 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear mirrors the front design with distinctively shaped T-shaped LED taillights flanking the central ‘Skoda’ block lettering, capped off by an integrated roof spoiler.

Underpinned by the Volkswagen Group’s MEB dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Peaq will officially become the largest production vehicle in Skoda’s global portfolio. It measures 4,874 mm in length with a massive 2,965 mm wheelbase to comfortably accommodate up to seven adults. Buyers can choose between premium five-seat or multi-row six- and seven-seat configurations. The 5-seater version boasts a record-shattering 1,010-litre boot space, which scales down to 299 litres in the 7-seat configuration. A handy 37-litre front trunk, called a frunk, comes standard on all variants.

Skoda has outlined three distinct mechanical trims for the MEB-based flagship. The Peaq 60 has a 63 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive, producing 204 horsepower and offering a range of over 460 kilometres. The Peaq 90 has a 91 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive, producing 286 horsepower and offering a range of over 600 kilometres. The Peaq 90x has a 91 kWh battery with dual-motor all-wheel drive, producing 299 horsepower and also offering a range of over 600 kilometres. The top-tier 90x performance model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Thanks to optimised high-voltage electrical tracking, all three variants can charge from 10% to 80% via DC fast charging in under 30 minutes.

Though the final interior hasn’t been completely revealed, early specifications promise a luxury-tier cabin. It will be anchored by a 13.6-inch portrait-oriented central touchscreen paired with a 10-inch digital instrument display and an augmented-reality head-up display. True luxury features include an electrochromic panoramic sunroof with 9-segment adjustable opacity, a 3D Sonos sound system, and a Relax Package adding massaging seats with adjustable leg rests. Utility features include a smartphone-based Digital Key, Vehicle-to-Load external device charging, and integrated windshield washers hidden right inside the wiper blades.

If you are thinking of waiting for the Skoda Peaq, you should do so if you need a large 7-seater electric SUV for your family. You want a range of over 600 kilometres on a single charge. You want the option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. You want a luxury cabin with a big screen, a panoramic sunroof, and massaging seats. You want the practicality of a huge boot and a front trunk. You can wait until June 23, 2026, for the global debut. You should be aware that Skoda has not yet announced an India launch timeline.

You should consider the Skoda Enyaq if you want a smaller, more affordable electric SUV from Skoda that is already on sale. You should consider the Kia EV9 if you want a 7-seater electric SUV that is already available in some markets. You should consider the Volvo EX90 if you want a premium 7-seater electric SUV with a focus on safety.
