2026 Toyota Ebella Launched: Price, Variants, Features and Specifications
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially entered the Indian mass-market electric vehicle space. The company has launched its first-ever all-electric SUV, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. It was co-developed with Suzuki and is based on the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara platform. The Ebella debuts Toyota’s “Urban Tech” design and styling language. If you want a stylish, safe, and well-equipped electric SUV from a trusted brand, the Ebella is now available.

The Ebella is offered in three different trims: E1, E2, and E3. Currently, Toyota has only announced the pricing for the fully-loaded, top-spec E3 variant. The E1 has a 49 kWh battery and a claimed range of 440 kilometres. Its price is yet to be announced. The E2 has a 61 kWh battery and a claimed range of 543 kilometres. Its price is also yet to be announced. The E3 has a 61 kWh battery and a claimed range of 543 kilometres. It costs ₹23.60 lakh, ex-showroom. To lower the entry barrier, the Ebella will also be available under a Battery-as-a-Service rental model, alongside an Assured 60 percent Buyback scheme. The car is available in 5 monotone shades. These are Sportin Red, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey, Bluish Black, and Cafe White. The Red, White, and Silver options can also be paired with a contrast black roof for a dual-tone finish.
The SUV uses a dedicated EV platform built with a high-tensile body structure and high-capacity Lithium Iron Phosphate cells, which are called LFP batteries. These batteries are very safe and long-lasting. The 49 kWh battery in the E1 produces 144 horsepower and 193 Nm of instant torque. The 61 kWh battery in the E2 and E3 produces 174 horsepower and 193 Nm of torque. The car has a front-wheel drive single permanent magnet synchronous motor setup for the Indian market. It measures 4,285 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height. The wheelbase is a generous 2,700 mm, which gives good legroom. The boot capacity is 310 litres. The car supports high-speed DC fast charging up to 150 kW. It can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes.
The cabin adopts a dual-tone brown-and-black premium layout. It emphasizes soft-touch materials and a signature two-spoke “squircle” steering wheel. The dashboard has a seamless single display panel. This consists of a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.1-inch central touchscreen. The driver’s seat is 10-way power-adjustable. The front seats are ventilated, which means they blow cool air to keep you comfortable in hot weather. The rear seats are unique. They can slide and recline and are split in a 40:20:40 format. This gives you a lot of flexibility for carrying passengers and luggage. Other luxury features include a fixed panoramic glass roof, a 10-speaker premium JBL sound system with a subwoofer, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, 12-colour ambient lighting, and an air purifier. The connected car tech uses the Toyota i-CONNECT suite for remote battery health tracking, pre-cooling climate scheduling, and smartwatch integration.
Toyota has positioned the Ebella highly on safety. Standard protection across all variants includes 7 airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD, and Hill-Hold Assist. The top-spec E3 variant also gets a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, High Beam Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking. The car is also equipped with front and rear parking sensors and a high-definition 360-degree camera system. To reassure first-time EV buyers, Toyota backs the vehicle with a standard 3-year or 1,00,000 km vehicle warranty and an extensive 8-year or 2,00,000 km warranty on the LFP battery pack.
If you are thinking of buying the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, you should get the E3 if you want the top-spec model with all the features and a 61 kWh battery. You have a budget of about ₹23.60 lakh. You want the safety of 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS. You want premium features like the JBL sound system, panoramic glass roof, and ventilated seats. You should consider waiting for the E1 or E2 if you have a lower budget and are willing to accept fewer features and a smaller battery. You should consider the Maruti e Vitara if you want the same car with a different badge and slightly different styling. You should consider the Hyundai Creta EV or Tata Curvv EV if you want other electric SUV options in a similar price range.
