The F 450 GS marks a significant step forward for BMW in the entry-level ADV space, as this will replace the now-discontinued BMW G 310 GS in India. Although the motorcycle has been designed and developed with BMW Motorrad in Germany, it will be exclusively manufactured in India by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility.

Powering the new BMW F 450 GS is the 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, which produces 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm. The motor is paired with the six-speed gearbox and comes equipped with the slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

With respect to design, the baby GS takes its inspiration from the flagship BMW R 1300 GS, carrying forward the signature brand ADV styling in a more compact and accessible form factor. At the hardware front, the F 450 GS is expected to feature long-travel suspension with the USD forks and monoshock at the rear. This will offer adjustability to tune it for the on-road and off-road riding conditions.

BMW is also expected to offer the F 450 GS in the four variants – Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy, with the latter being a more off-road-focused trim with additional equipment, such as tubeless wire-spoke wheels, different tyres, and enhanced electronic aids.
